Fork Lake sits in the Highlands, tucked beside Mount Work Regional Park. It’s small — about 4 hectares, roughly a 1 km shoreline — and drains a modest 2 km² watershed into Fizzle Lake and Craigflower Creek on its way to Portage Inlet. Nineteen lakeside homes (most on septic) share the shore, with the northwest bank buffered by parkland. For decades, residents have chosen a quiet life here: no motors on the water, stewardship as a norm, and a keen interest in keeping the lake clear and swimmable.
